GIVE HER A WET ONE
Studies show the wetter the kiss, the better your odds of scoring

Is a kiss ever just a kiss? According to recent research, not really.

Scientists at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) gathered this month to discuss links between kissing and the hormones that affect coupling. Studies show that saliva contains testosterone, thereby revving a woman’s engine when she gets a wet one on her smacker.

“There is evidence that men like sloppier kisses with more open mouth,” says Rutgers University anthropologist Helen Fisher. “That suggests they are unconsciously trying to transfer testosterone to stimulate the sex drive in women."

Separate studies also found men prefer wetter kisses with more tongue action than women. But be warned: You are being scored, and the score could matter. Good kissing technique can be a crucial first step to a long-term relationship.

Women use kissing as an assessment device more than men do, so for the first kiss, make sure you do it right. The perfect kiss usually involves light pressure, wandering hands (stay above the hips, guys), soft lips, and a breath mint.

Still not sure what kind of kiss she wants? Here's a no-fail approach: Ask her to demonstrate what she considers a sexy kiss. Follow her lead—and that should guarantee you end the night on a high note.
